Welcome to my fedi-home

I'm a cis-male creature whose ideas refuse to fit into any category, so I became a category of my own. (AKA a weirdo)

Not too alone nor popular I'm proud to say I wasted my life staring at a code editor and I will continue being your friendly geek on the internet.

Anxiety is woven into my personality and I believe it's because I can see a future in which we’re all doomed. beside this, introverted and talkative are other labels you can attach to my presence.

If I’m not busy writing code, you’ll likely find me wandering the streets with a camera, or hiding in a dark corner with a novel, as any well-adjusted person does.

@dentangle@chaos.social which one do you prefer tho? I don't really care but master seems cool.

    @nadiyar @dentangle the point of using “main” instead is that master-slave rhetoric is not something that should be permiating software development

      @hsza@social.tudbut.de @dentangle@chaos.social oh! thanks for clarifying, it's first time I'm exposed to the idea that the name master might be interpreted that way.

      I used to think people choose main because it's short and obvious.

        @violetmadder@kolektiva.social @dentangle@chaos.social you know main is declarative (which is good) but master gave me a poetic feeling, like a orchestrator in a huge orchestra, that all other branches are managed and organized by that branch.

        Though someone just mentioned this could have other meanings..

            @nadiyar I used to think "master" sounded cool too. Then I learned that it makes a lot of people uncomfortable so I stopped using it and switched to "main".

            Now, when I see people ardently defending its use, I see people who care more about their own rights and preferences than those of other people. It's a pretty clear signal that they aren't people I want to spend time with.

              @dentangle@chaos.social yeah...
              Soooo I'm going to rename every main/master branch in my personal projects to "meow" :D
              It kinda sounds like main, while it remains cool 🥰
