@nadiyar @Mehrad Same, though for me it's been 10 years. On hardware that has nvidia GPU's as well, so dealing with that

@Mehrad @nadiyar uh. Mesa since that doesn't apply for me with this desktop. All my laptops have intel or amd gpus so no worries there either

@Mehrad@fosstodon.org @sebastiaanfranken@mastodon.nl then Bazzite might be to rescue. Unlike the default Fedora branch they test proprietary drivers like Nvidia.

            https://bazzite.gg/

Edit: and comes pre installed with gaming apps

@nadiyar @Mehrad Yeah Fedora not testing stuff like the nvdia driver is 1) well known and 2) documented since it's not a Fedora thing (rpmfusion is 3rd party technically)

Last time it messed up with my system was that after update my KDE Plasma global shortcuts were wiped. That is definitely not an rpmfusion thing.

Also, this make me worried as EU is making a distro based on Fedora (which of course is stupid, as we have Suse and other European distros, and yet they had to go for IBM product)

How can you base your strategic OS on a distro that doesn't package one of the most common graphics card driver!

@Mehrad @nadiyar Fair point, but KDE isn't the full on child everyone seems to think it is. It's \*technically\* still a spinoff, but one that got so much attention (and bugreports, lol) that FESCO decided to make it more prominent.

Also (and this is very personal) but KDE is a mess code quality wise. The latest update to 6.7 redid a lot of things and rewrote others, and any sane developers IMHO would have pushed that out as KDE 7.

Also I wouldn't call Fedora a IBM product, because it isn't. Red Hat takes Fedora as it's base to build from, sure, but that doesn't make it a IBM product.

Because Fedora wants freedom and openness, and if there is one thing nvidia (and broadcom) don't do.... Also it's the Fedora software licensing policies.

You perhaps are misspelling the following regarding Fedora release:
                    [c]lear [c]arelessness of the [c]ore [c]ontributors in [c]omprehensive testing to [c]onsequently [c]atch and [c]orrect [c]arfuffle. 😉
